Friday Mile Strips Things Down With Special Acoustic Set, Sept. 8
One thing Friday Mile probably doesn’t do enough: play acoustic shows.
That’s not to say we don’t enjoy it. It just never seems to happen as much as we’d like (maybe because it’s so damn fun playing loud rock music in a dark club).
But you should hear Jace and Hannah sing together with nothing but a guitar. It’s how the band started, really.
Jace, Hannah, and Phil will be playing an acoustic set at the Artist Home Showcase on Sept. 8 at the Jewel Box Theatre (The Rendezvous).
They’ll be joined by other Artist Home bands Drew Grow & The Pastors’ Wives (Portland), Goldfinch (Tacoma), and Telegraph Canyon (Fort Worth). Recently at Doe Bay Fest, Drew Grow and Goldfinch played the festival after party — a performance attended by the likes of John Roderick and David Bazan — two men who espoused good things about both bands. The Seattle Weekly called this event within the event “The most talked about set of the entire weekend.” On Sept. 8 from 6-10 PM, you can come and see why.
Telegraph Canyon is coming off of support dates with Broken Social Scene and The Old 97’s. These guys have been described as “The Arcade Fire meet Texas.” Check out a mini feaurette about the band here.
